Freshwater Land Trust, BAA’s gracious hosts for this year’s ArtWalk, is a non-profit conservation organization working to protect Alabama’s lands and waters.

The artwork, painted by Gates and framed by Forstall Art Center, featured Cahaba Lillies, a plant native to Alabama. The plant’s very specific habitat needs make it a subject of great interest to conservation efforts throughout the Southeast.
