With a large crowd in attendance, artists and father/daughter team Tres and Lillis Taylor shared their insights, stories, and the ups and downs of becoming artists. Tres, a former biochemist, completely changed careers before becoming an artist partially as the result of a spiritual encounter. Daughter Lillis now designs and creates garments based on her father’s engaging paintings. Their stories were quite inspirational and encouraging for artists endeavoring to succeed at their craft.
The Birmingham Art Association and the Birmingham Museum of Art once again partnered to bring to the Birmingham community this entertaining and enlightening presentation as part of the BMA’s First Thursday event. Guests mingled, munched on tapas and cocktails in the garden, and toured the museum under the guidance of Kristen Greenwood’s “The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree” tour. Overall, it was one of the best Art on Stage productions and the best attended that the BAA has presented.
